We are thrilled to help you explore your new home city of Buenos Aires. Throughout your Puentes program, we will have diverse and engaging cultural activities so that you can get to know more about this great country and its varied work sectors. We highly encourage you to attend all of the events listed below, which are included in your Puentes experience and have no extra cost to you.

Get to know your fellow Puentes participants along with the Puentes Team and enjoy your first dinner in a traditional Argentine restaurant! Vegetarian options are available.
Go on a complete city tour of all of the major neighborhoods and sites of Buenos Aires, including the Recoleta cemetery, La Boca, Plaza de Mayo, 9 de Julio, and Palermo. Wear good walking shoes, and bring your camera!
We will go on a full day trip to an “estancia” (Argentine ranch), in the Pampas region outside of Buenos Aires – riding horses, having an introductory polo lesson led by a professional polo player, playing soccer, and eating an Argentine “asado” (barbecue).
During this seminar, you will gain valuable insights from a panel discussion with Argentina professionals, who will tell us about how they are building their careers in Argentina’s unique social, economic, and political context. You will learn about how Argentines use resilience, innovation, humor, grit, and determination to push themselves and the country forward.
Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to learn Argentina’s iconic dance! You will have an introductory tango lesson at an authentic “milonga” (location for tango dancing) and then have the opportunity to actually dance with other “milongueros” while listening to live music!

A pleasant getaway from the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, Tigre is a popular weekend jaunt for “porteños” (Buenos Aires residents). We will take a day trip to Tigre and go kayaking through the interconnected rivers and streams.
Ready to have your breath taken away? Iguazú Falls is one Argentina’s most stunning sights. It is a massive collection of waterfalls that makes Niagara look tiny. You will be exploring Iguazú with a group of other international students. If you only take one trip outside of BA, it should definitely be to Iguazú Falls.
On this tour, you will explore the famous cemetery with a guide and learn the secrets behind one of the world's most impressive graveyards. Admire the grand mausoleums, visit Evita Perón's grave, and hear stories of hauntings, curses, and gravediggers.
We’ll learn how to make chocotorta, which is a classic Argentine dessert with chocolate cookies and dulce de leche. And you’ll also be introduced to how to prepare, drink, and share mate, which is an important traditional drink in Argentina. Be sure to bring your Puentes mate that we gave you in your Puentes Welcome Bag!

You will learn how to prepare some typical specialties of Argentine cuisine in an authentic porteña kitchen. Afterward, you can bring these recipes back to the U.S to always carry a little piece of Argentine with you and share with friends.

The Palace Barolo is a landmark Dante-inspired office building that hides a number of curiosities. Inaugurated in 1923, it was the tallest building in South America until the construction of the Kavanagh building in 1935. We will discover the building’s secrets and also get an impressive view of the Avenida de Mayo and the National Congress building.
