We will select four Argentine students to participate in the fully-funded week of business visits, startup challenges, mentoring, and cultural exchange, alongside eight New Zealand youth, in Buenos Aires, Argentina from July 14 to 20, 2019. The deadline to apply is June 10, 2019!

WHAT?

New Zealand’s Latin America Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence, the Young Enterprise Scheme, and Puentes Abroad are partnering to host the weeklong “Entrepreneurship in Argentina” program for New Zealand and Argentine youth in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Through the intensive week of cultural immersion with tango dancing and an estancia day trip with a polo lesson, business visits to emerging startups and top companies, entrepreneurship workshops with skilled mentors, and a culminating business challenge that you will undertake in teams with your New Zealand peers, you will develop intercultural and business skills that you can apply in your academic and professional careers. Your lunch, dinner, snacks, transportation between program activities, and all activities are included at no cost to you.

WHEN and where?

Seven days from July 14 to July 20, 2019. From 7pm to 9pm on Sunday, July 14. From 9am to 9:30pm on Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19. From 9am to 7pm on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Participants will be expected to arrive to Palermo at the beginning of each day’s programming, and then all transportation between the day’s events will be provided for all participants. Each day will conclude with a dinner in Palermo that will end by 9:30pm.

Who?

Eight New Zealand youth who have been chosen through a highly competitive selection process for New Zealand youth entrepreneurs. Four Argentine youth who are interested in entrepreneurship, fluent in English, and 17 to 18 years old.

  • Who is our ideal candidate? Entrepreneurial mindset and curiosity, strong problem solving abilities, and interpersonal tact are required. We are seeking ambassadors for Argentina, who love their home country and are eager to share Argentine cultural know-how with their New Zealand peers during the program. Applicants must have a proactive, creative, and enthusiastic approach and be solid team players. You should be comfortable giving a presentation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Language: Fluency in English in order to be able to communicate easily with New Zealand peers, present in English, and understand business speakers in English.

  • Age and Education: 17 to 18 years old by July 2019. Student or recent graduate of high school, with academic and extracurricular studies in business, entrepreneurship, economics, or similar topics.

  • Time Commitment: Full availability from July 14 to July 20.
